Who is answering these political polls? Why has no one asked me?

How do you get on the Gallup polling list?

Have a listed public telephone number, not on a "do not call" list, and live in a diverse area of the US.

Your chance of being asked is about 1 in 300 million. Email Gallup and ask.

I’ve asked that same question. As far as I know, they call your house and ask you questions. The problem with that is most of the "younger" people don’t have house phones only cell phones. So therefor, we don’t get those pollsters calling.

They haven’t asked me either. And I don’t know of anyone who has been.
Hey JimSock. I work from home. Have for a while now. Never have I received a call.

Very simple. Quit your job, stay home all day watching Jerry Springer and the View so you’ll be there when the call comes. As soon as you do one poll, you name is put on a list and sold to all the other pollsters.
You will now get polled once, twice or more a week and you will be America’s authority on politics and foreign affairs. No wonder our image abroad is damaged.

well they only interview about 3000 people for every poll, so in a country of 300 million you have a very small chance of getting a call. in addition, they only do landlines so people like me who only have a cell phone will never get called :(
