like all the comres 1s i see on the tv – i went on the website but i cant see where to vote – am i missing something?
ok so could i put myself on some sort of list to be randomly selected or something?
web polls aren’t valid, nor are any polls that require people to seek out the poller.
Scientific polling collects a random sampling. So you can’t seek out the poll taker.

I am starting to think that the majority of political polls are rigged. So many of them always end up neck and neck, or too close to call. I don’t think people are split 50-50 in their opinions as often as the media seems to portray them. I think the media rigs the polls to be 50-50, neck and neck because it is "more exciting" and "suspensful" to have a tight race and it is easier to rig the elections.
You can get polls to say anything you want them to say just by the way they word the question. Or the demographics of where the poll is taken can also skew results.

I’m praying not.
Never believe the polls. Look what they said about Kerry. If Obama supporters think its over…I’d re-think it. Dems are always leading and them suddenly the Reps pull it out on election day.

Obviously polls must be replaced because they are so inaccurate.
Should the "frontrunners" be determined by donation counts? Donation totals?
Should # of unique donors be factored into existing polls? Included alongside existing polls?
What do you think should be done to make the "whos winning" overview more realistic?
Maybe they should stop polling and trying to determine who is in front. Wouldn’t it be great if no one knew who was in the lead. People would go and vote for the candidate of their choice and not be afraid it would be a wasted vote because they wouldn’t have a clue. I think that polls help to sway votes. People rarely vote for an underdog.

What role do you think public opinion polls should play in the political process?

Polls can be manipulated. I’ve heard 3 different candidates in the lead on the same day from three different news programs.
Should the News stop trying to be Presidential Makers and Let the American People vote ?
But it makes it SO easy to see who’s in bed with who.

Where does all these news broadcasters get their polls from? The majority of the people I talk to say they are voting one way but the polls they shows just the opposite!?
I deal with many clients daily from banks to home owners.
You may be mixing with people who think the way you do (or the opposite). People’s voting patterns also vary between cities, and between rural and urban areas. Polls are supposed to sample a wide batch to iron out these differences.

(Like I mean, they can interview about 1500 people on the telephone, and then predict how 2 million people will vote in an election. —)
***They just did precisely that for the Pennsylvania Presidential Primary. —- The CNN polls predicted Clinton would win the Pennsylvania primary by 9%. Currently with 75% (1.6 million votes cast) Clinton is winning by 9%.
political polls insult just about everything!

I always hear about approval ratings, but I know that CNN or any other news organization doesn’t know what every single American is thinking, so how do they come up with the poll and survey outcomes? Where could someone get involved in these polls or surveys?
Go to any credible new website, the polls are generally on the news article itself. I did one on health care yesterday from the Washington Post, by clicking on an article about health care.
The bad thing and disingenuous thing about these types of polls, is that you can do it over and over, so it is very difficult to get an accurate picture of the way people feel about an issue.
